You don't need that much pressure when milling/grinding. It's so fast with back and forth rotation and very minimal amount of press down pressure.
Totally pleased with the grind quality. I think the larger one would be a little easier to handle for my old hands. Go ahead and get a finer grind plate, I have several Santa Cruz grinders, an Odin stainless steel threadless one. This thing performs on an entorely different level. It STAYS clean. I;ve milled moon rocks and infused buds and it came out almost perfectly clean,
I can't think of anything I've ever purchased that I was this completely satisfied with or that was such an obvious improvement over the competition. The Flower Mill is easy to use, easy to clean and does a great job. Larger stems are easily removed after milling (you can tell by the sound when there are only stems left above the screen) and the smaller stems that slip through the screen don't get chopped up like they do in a grinder, so they're easy to pick out.
This flower mill is absolutely wild. It beats out traditional grinders in every way. Quicker, easier to use/clean, more consistent grind, and the depth of the chamber is more tidy and convenient. Apparently the company had some QC issues early on, but their dedication to refining and improving their product is impressive. Absolutely no complaints about this mill.
Much better grinder than the average market availabilty. I have arthritis and this grinder is sooo much easier to use; plus it does a stellar job!!
